Too many computer software projects fail or have delays and bugs because the developers’ understanding of the project differs from that of the client; too often the differences are discovered late, after much time has been spent going down a particular route; the solution becomes a compromise between what the developers first envisaged and what the client actually wanted
Ultimately, the resultant software is usually delivered late or over budget and will usually contain numerous bugs, as the original design is morphed to fit a shape it was never designed for.
These problems are all avoidable, and with better project management and better communication, the developers can get a much clearer picture of their task earlier on, and the client can equally identify problems early on in the development cycle, before they become ingrained.
Therefore, to enable us to carry out our work most effectively, we like to work closely with our clients throughout the design, implementation and testing phases, ensuring that there is a mutual understanding of the complete project.
Where possible Sygneca will make websites and software available from early prototypes to pre-release builds. This allows our clients to have a clear day-to-day view of progress. Feedback can be made directly to Sygneca’s project management system, giving you a direct line to our developers.
The lightweight project management layer we employ has the combined benefits of a shorter communication chain between client and developer, whilst making best use of our human resources at the same time.
All our documentation to projects (such as specification documents) is made available to our clients through the client area on our website. This allows our clients to monitor our work even before implementation begins, and raise any concerns they have well in advance of development work commencing.
